Happy Holidays!

***********************************

Due to the business of the coming week we will not be having Tuesday night open knit this week.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

All of us at Lizzie Ann’s want to extend a wish to you for health and happiness through out the coming year.

 ***********************************

In the last post we talked about some one-skein projects.  Well, here we’ve included some photos of new yarns we’ve gotten in that will work well with the one-skein theme.

First we have Tilli Tomas’ Hand Painted yarn in baby themed colors.  The hint of beads makes them perfect for that special new baby!

Tutu from Crystal Palace is a fun new yarn!  With curly scarves being very popular right now, this is a perfect choice to mix things up!

Last but not least is the yarn Mohair Splash by Artyarns.  We have been carrying Mohair Splash for some time now, but the new colors never cease to amaze us!  This yarn is gorgeous and comes in some absolutely beautiful colors!

On another note, this is one of our busiest times of year, and therefore we will be holding off until mid January to post a new class list.  We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but hope that you will check back frequently to check updates!

And remember, if you have any questions, please contact us here at the shop! Our Ph# is (616) 392-2035

Due to Thanksgiving next week, we will not be hosting
Open Knit on Tuesday November 22.
Hope you have a warm and wonderful holiday!

As promised, here is some more news from the shop!

First and foremost, we would like to thank all of you for making our fund-raiser for the Susan B. Komen Foundation during the month of October a success!  All the proceeds and donations will go to make a difference.

Next, we have an intriguing class lined up for you.

The Mystery Scarf    November 29 & December 13    (Tuesdays)    2-3:00

The cost is $20 + materials

You’ll have to knit it to unravel the mystery!

We also have new yarns and projects to share…

The Cozy Ascot is reminiscent of those knit in the 40′s with a modern twist!  It’s knit with two different yarns, one for warmth and one for flair.  And with the section of colors we have for you to choose from, you’ll be hard pressed to not find a color that’s right for you or someone on your gift list!

In keeping with the neck warmer theme, here we have one knit in a new yarn to us called Big & Easy Colore’ from Lana Grossa.  It is a chunky yarn that knits up quick! It is one of several projects you’ll find in the Big & Easy booklet.

Here we have new yarn from Blue Heron!  The photo does NOT do the yarn justice!

As always, Happy Knitting!

Maggi Knits Update

Due to scheduling conflicts, we have a new date for the

Maggi Knits Trunk Show!

January 21.2012

This is a Saturday, and we hope will work a little better with everyone’s schedules as opposed to a weekday.

We have more news and photos about the shop to come, so please visit again over the next couple of days!

Big News

We have some big news for Maggi Knits fans!  November 30th we will be hosting a MaggiKnits Trunk Show! Not only will you be able to view and try on garments, but you will also be able to purchase yarn and kits!   Come and join us for a day of fun and inspiration!  In the coming weeks we will be posting more information.

Pretty in Pink!

Hope all of you are doing well and enjoying the beautiful fall colors.  Here in Holland we’ve been extremely lucky to have some beautiful weather to go along with them!

First and foremost, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and to honor that we will be donating a portion of our Friday sales to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  We have 3 Fridays remaining this month, so stop in and we can help the cause together.

By the way, we always take donations of Chemo Caps here at the shop for people of all ages.  Unfortunately, ( in more ways than one) our supply to offer has become low, so we’re asking for help to replenish.  If you or someone you know is in need of a Chemo Cap, please feel free to stop in and pick one up.  That’s why we have them.  We also offer a free pattern for the caps with yarn purchase if you don’t already have one.

In other news, we’ve gotten some intriguing and fun yarns in recently. You may have noticed that ruffled scarves seem to be very popular right now, and we have several fibers to offer for making one yourself.    Our newest is Fila Di Crosa’s ’Moda’.  This is a mesh yarn in which you use the edge to knit with.  It is a lot of fun to work with, and it comes with a free pattern to make this scarf!

Another new yarn for us is ‘Impressions’ by Scarlet Fleece.  This is a hand died yarn in vibrant colors.  It is such a nice yarn to work with, and makes up this neck warmer quickly if you’re looking for something to knit for the holidays!

Although this isn’t a new yarn for us, we want to bring your attention to ‘Mohair Splash’ by Artyarns! Made of Mohair and spun with sequins and glass beads, this yarn has an amazing texture and elegant appearance!  You have to see it to fully appreciate it.  Just look at this loop scarf…

Hope you enjoyed this post!  If you have any questions, please call us here at the shop. Our phone number is (616) 392-2035.

And as always, Happy Knitting!
