At Lizzie Ann’s we have decided to focus one whole week to a very special cause. It is called The Red Scarf Project. It was started in 2005 by the Orphan Foundation of America as a way of showing community support and encouragement to college-bound teens in foster care.

The saying goes that no one is really an orphan—and children in foster care, more than anyone else, need tangible reminders that they, too, belong to the human family and are cared about.
In that spirit we will be collecting scarves, made by you, all week to be sent on to the Orphan Foundation of America to help with the Red Scarf Project as well as having an all day KNIT IN, Tuesday, October 9, 10:00am-9:00pm at Lizzie Ann’s.
Please come join us for some knitting and crochet fun as well as providing a wonderful scarf for someone who will undoubtedly appreciate it. Bring yarn that has been sitting in your stash for too long and hasn’t seen the light of day for a while. It doesn’t have to be red but bring some red to put in it!
Hope to see you there!!!
Have I mentioned lately how cool you guys are? See you there! Night-time methinks, with my trusty crochet hook so I can do a whole scarf in one swoop! Something lacey with flowers? Michelle, I hope you’ll be there, because I’ll need your coaching/inspiration…
