A Very Nice Nod

Lizzie Ann’s Wool Co.
The first glimpse I had of Lizzie Ann’s Wool Co. was the amazing display in the front window. Arranged on horizontal rods were dozens of miniature sweaters! No two were alike, and every possible style and color were represented in the beautiful format. What a great way to draw customers into the well-lit and expansive store!
Upon entering, the first things to catch my eye were the yarn displays — color, texture, softness everywhere! Many sample models allowed the shopper to see the limitless possibilities that could be produced with the lovely yarns available in every corner of the store. A large table invited shoppers to sit and knit awhile, and a lovely antique handmade cradle served as yet another container for yarn hanks and blankets.
My sole purchase was a walnut shawl pin which I saw in a beautiful knitted shawl on a mannequin near the rear of the store. Hand-polished and silken to the touch, this pin could double as a hair ornament to keep my long hair tidy. I limited my shopping experience because not all family members were keen on spending the short time we had in yarn stores, but I plan to return one day soon and spend more time (and money!) in Lizzie Ann’s inviting shop.
I recently visited the store’s Web site, LizzieAnn.wordpress.com, and realized how much I missed in the store. They offer classes, have frequent trunk shows and encourage community knitting. If you happen to be in western Michigan, do yourself a favor and stop in! The owner is Lindy Graff,( 616)392-2035, and the address is 54 E. 8th St., Holland, MI 49423.

I was in your store during Tulip weekend and signed up to be notified about the pattern availability for a wonderful children’s sweater…..it was a red tweed with a bigt button in the front, looked like all in stockinette stitch. Haven’t heard back and would LOVE to purchase that pattern. Please advise.
Many thanks.
I live in CHicago and will not be coming back to Holland anytime this summer, but it was a great visit, especially your store.
